Brill’s new platform
Brill is proud to announce the release of BrillOnline.com, the brand new resource center for study and research. BrillOnline.com provides the academic user access to Brill’s wide collection of e-books, online journals, online reference works and online bibliographies.
Brill is launching BrillOnline.com, the next generation online resource center for students, researchers and teachers in academia. BrillOnline aims to offer these users the best of today’s functionality and features in online publishing. In order to generate the optimal user experience, the content is clustered according to its nature and to the functionality required and presented on three platforms:
- for electronic books and journals: booksandjournals.brillonline.com;
- for online reference works: referenceworks.brillonline.com;
- for online bibliographies: bibliographies.brillonline.com.
BrillOnline features excellent browsing and searching tools, and essential personal tools for saving, alerting, sharing, and exporting. BrillOnline is compliant with current industry standards such as OpenUrl, DOI, Athens, Shibboleth, COUNTER, SUSHI, etc. It offers an automated permission service (CCC’s RightsLink) and indispensable admin tools for library administrators. BrillOnline will be kept up-to-date to keep track of vital new developments in scholarly communications.
End of the Brill maintenance fee
Monday October 10th, Brill announced its intention to discontinue maintenance fees for hosting online content charged to customers who have acquired Brill Online resources. This decision will become effective as of January 1, 2012 and is in response to the need of library communities for a simpler invoicing process and more predictable budgeting. Brill Online customers will benefit from the elimination of ongoing costs, reduction in the number of invoices, and lower administration costs.
