M. Widjojo (1967) obtained his MA degree at the Department of Anthropology, University of Indonesia, in 2001. He received his doctorate in History at Leiden University in 2007. In 1993 he joined the Center for Political Studies, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), Jakarta.
