Publishing Books with Brill
The Personal Touch
Brill has a large and dedicated team of acquisitions editors and their assistant editors who are the main points of contacts throughout the different stages of the production of your manuscript to book. Lines of communication are short, decision-making processes are fast while maintaining the high-standards of peer review. Once a book has been accepted for publication, we can vouch for one of the fastest time-to-market delays in scholarly publishing, usually been four to six months.
High Standards, Quick Decisions
We maintain our high standards by a thorough process of peer-review based on the final, completed manuscript, which helps, us as well as you, to make your book or article as good as possible. Most of our books are published within established series headed by academic or specialist editorial boards, with whom our acquisitions editors are in frequent contact. A publication decision is made by the acquisitions editor on the basis of the peer-review reports and the advice of the editorial board. We are unlikely to request unnecessary cuts in the length of your work, and we do not require subvention for the publication. We are usually able to give you our decision within two to three months.
Reaching the Reader
Brill has excellent marketing and sales contacts throughout the world, as well as distribution centers in both the UK and the USA. With our Printing-on-Demand facilities your book need never go out of print and our e-book collections ensure an even wider circulation of your work. Increasingly, our journals offer online submission. All of our journals are online through booksandjournals.brillonline.com as well as through other large aggregators of content, and many large consortia ensure that every journal is available to readers the world over.
