The Hague Academy of International Law

Martinus Nijhoff is extremely proud of its very special and longstanding relationship with The Hague Academy of International Law.

The Hague Academy is a center for high-level education in public and private international law. Its goal is to facilitate the in-depth, impartial examination of international legal issues.

The Academy is an Institution: it is not a University, as there is no permanent teaching staff. Rather, its scientific body - the Curatorium - calls upon academics, practitioners, diplomats and other expertly qualified personalities from all over the world to give courses. These courses are given in the form of a series of lectures, in English or French (with simultaneous interpretation) on general or specialist subjects. The lectures are normally published in the Collected Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law, which are certainly the most important encyclopaedic publication on private and public international law available.
